GSECL floats a tender for 4.5 MW of solar projects at thermal power plants

Gujarat State Electricity Corporation Limited (GSECL) has floated a tender for grid-connected solar projects with a capacity of 4.5 MW to be set up at two thermal power projects within the state. In the Jamnagar district, a 2.5 MW solar project will be constructed at Gandhinagar thermal power station, while a 2 MW solar project will be developed at Sikka thermal power station. The estimated cost of the project is Rs 180 million.

The scope of work comprises grid-connected solar project design, engineering, supply, procurement, and construction. The winning bidder will also be responsible for the project’s operation and maintenance for the next 10 years. The bid submission deadline is September 13, 2021.

As per the tender, to be eligible, the bidders should have designed, supplied, and commissioned grid-connected solar projects with a cumulative installed capacity of 4 MW or above. Moreover, out of the total 4 MW capacity, at least 2.65 MW solar capacity must be commissioned and in operation in India, and one project should be of 1 MW capacity. The bidders net worth must be positive during the last financial year.
