Tata Power Renewable Energy commissions 100 MW solar project in Gujarat

Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd (TPREL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Power, has successfully commissioned a 100 MW solar project at Raghanesda Solar Park, Gujarat. The project is another milestone for TPREL, as the plant is expected to generate 255 million units in the first year of its operation. Raghanesda Solar Park is located in the Banaskantha district of Gujarat.

The project was awarded to TPREL by Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited. The total installed capacity of TPREL now stands at 2,797 MW, which includes 1,865 MW of solar and 932 MW of wind capacity. It has 1,234 MW of renewable projects under implementation. The project is in line with Tata Power’s vision of promoting clean and green energy in the country through renewable power generation.

Tata Power, with its subsidiaries and joint controlled entities, has an installed/managed capacity of 12,811 MW. Renewable energy accounts for 31 per cent of the overall portfolio of the company with almost 4 GW of power generation from solar, wind, hydro and waste heat recovery. The company is steering the transformation into integrated solutions providers by looking at new ventures into rooftop solar and micro grids, storage solutions and EV charging infrastructure, among others.
