Rajasthan Electronics and Instruments Limited (REIL), a joint venture between the Governments of India and Rajasthan, has floated a rate contract tender for 8,000 domestic content requirement (DCR) polycrystalline solar photovoltaic (PV) modules. Tenders are being solicited for 2,000 modules of 160 W, 320 W, 325 W, and 340 W each. The last date for submission of bids is August 12, 2021. The rate contract would be valid until October 2021.
The tender is only open to original Indian PV module manufacturers or their authorised dealers and distributors. As per the tender, the selected vendor will give a 66-month guarantee against manufacturing defects from the date of shipment, as well as free replacements in the event of a problem. The PV module would be warranted for its output peak watt capacity, which should not be less than 90 per cent after 10 years and 80 per cent after 25 years.
REIL has previously solicited proposals for contract production of 6,500 polycrystalline solar PV modules in February 2021. REIL’s headquarters and manufacturing facilities are located in Jaipur, Rajasthan. The city is well connected by rail, road, and air to India’s two largest metropolises, New Delhi and Mumbai, and it is part of the golden triangle of tourism, along with New Delhi and Agra.
