The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has floated a tender for setting up of 1.2 GW of wind power projects. These would be set up undertranche-XI of the interstate transmission system (ISTS)-connected projects in India. The discoms of Madhya Pradesh will purchase the power procured by SECI, through the Madhya Pradesh Power Management Company Limited. The projects will have to be commissioned within 18 months of signing of the power purchase agreement (PPA). The bid submission deadline is July 6, 2021.
As per the tender guidelines, the project should be designed to interconnect with the ISTS per prevailing regulations.The bid capacities should be quoted in multiples of 10 MW.A bidder can submit a single bid offering a minimum capacity of 50 MW and a maximum of 1,200 MW.Developers will be required to identify and acquire land for the projects, as well as acquire connectivity and long-term open access approvals for connections in the ISTS network. The capacity utilisaton factor should be at least 22 per cent.
To be eligible for bidding, the bidder’s net worth should be at least Rs 12 million per MW of the quoted capacity as of the last date of the previous financial year. Meanwhile, the bidder’s minimum annual turnover should be at least Rs 6 million per MW of the quoted capacity as of the last date of the previous financial year.
Earlier in January 2021, SECI invited bids for the development of 1.2 GW of ISTS-connected wind power projects under Tranche X. The projects will be set up on a build-own-operate basis and a PPA will be signed with SECI for 25 years.
