PEDA invites bids for 5 MW of grid-connected rooftop solar projects

The Punjab Energy Development Agency (PEDA) has invited bids for 5 MW of grid-connected rooftop solar projects on government buildings in the state. The successful bidder will also be responsible for the operations and maintenance of the project for a period of five years.There is a 100 per cent domestic content requirement of solar modules for this tender.The bid submission deadline is June 23, 2021.

In February 2021, the Punjab State Electricity Regulatory Commission approved the procurement of 500 MW of solar-wind hybrid projects from the Solar Energy Corporation of India. As per the power sale agreement, the power will be sold at a tariff of Rs 2.69 per kWh with a trading margin of Rs 0.02 per kWh.

Punjab has an installed solar capacity of 959 MW. In the state, 500 MW of solar projects are planned under the open access route in two tranches of 250 MW each. Moreover, 220 MW will be set up under the PM KUSUM scheme and bids for rooftop solar projects on government buildings will be announced shortly.
