REC releases new black solar panels with half-cut cells

The REC Group has added a new half-cut cell module series to its portfolio. The new module series, TwinPeak 4, uses p-type monocrystalline cells for greater efficiency and power. This p-type mono variant offers higher power output per square metre of panels installed. Moreover, fewer panels are required for the same power generation, which leads to a shorter installation time with fewer components such as clamps and racks. The increased energy yield helps in optimising space as well as reducing the payback time, owing to reduced costs.

The product comes with an innovative twin design, which permits energy generation from solar panels even during partial shading and enables higher energy yield over time. In addition, the panels have extra support bars across the rear to provide higher strength and durability, enabling them to withstand loads of up to 7,000 Pa. Further, the panels have a 30 mm frame height, which enables flexible installation options that help in overcoming design obstacles. The panels have black-coloured half-cut monocrystalline cells and a black frame. A full-black variant with a black backsheet is also available. The REC Group offers a 20-year product warranty on the same, with a 25-year linear power output warranty and 0.5 per cent warranted annual degradation. This ensures that the panels will still produce at least 86 per cent of the nameplate power capacity even after 24 years.
