JERC announces new generic tariff for renewable energy

The Joint Electricity Regulator Electricity Commission (JERC) for the state of Goa and union territories has issued an announcement for the generic tariffs for solar, wind and small hydro projects. This covers projects located in the state of Goa, as well as the union territories of Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep Islands, Puducherry, Daman & Diu, Dadra & Nagar Haveli, and Chandigarh.As per the regulations, the generic tariff will act as a ceiling tariff. These tariffs will applicable for projects commissioned during the financial year 2021-22 and will be effective from April 1, 2021 to March 31, 2022, unless there is another order issued by the JERC.

The generic tariffs have been determined, which will be valid for projects installed between the date of the issue of this order to March 31, 2022. The generic tariff of solar projects is Rs 4.68 per kWh for Goa, Dadra & Nagar Haveli, Daman, Diu, and Puducherry. For Andaman & Nicobar Island and Lakshadweep, it isRs 6.75 per kWh and Rs 4.96 per kWh for Chandigarh.The generic tariff for wind projects (gross metering) is set as Rs 4.92 per kWh for Goa Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Chandigarh. For Daman, Diu, and Puducherry, it is Rs 4.66 per kWh, Rs 3.40 per kWh, and Rs 4.21 per kWh, respectively.For Andaman & Nicobar Island and Lakshadweep, it is considered as Rs 6.65 kWh and Rs 6.70 per kWh.The generic tariff for small hydro projects (gross metering) commissioned, is Rs 4.49 per kWh for projects below or equal to 5 MW on the mainland. For projects above 5 MW and lower than or equal to 25 MW, the generic tariff is Rs 4.08 per kWh.For small hydro projects in islands, the generic tariff is Rs 6.89 per kWh for projects below or equal to 5 MW. For projects above 5 MW and lower than or equal to 25 MW, the generic tariff is set at Rs 5.91 per kWh.
