BHEL floats tender for 750 MW of monocrystalline solar modules for REWA solar park

Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has floated a tender to purchase 750 MW of monocrystalline silicon solar modules which will be used for developing the Rewa Ultra Mega Solar Limitedsolar park at Neemuch in Madhya Pradesh. The selected bidders must supply 72-cell monocrystalline solar modules in a 12×6 configuration or144-cell (half cut) in a 24×6 configuration. The modules must have a wattage output of at least 390 Wp or above in the 5 W bandc. The selected supplier will have to submit a bank guarantee equivalent to at least 10 per cent of the contract value. The deadline for the submission of bids is April 27, 2021.

To be eligible, the bidder must be an original solar module manufacturer with a minimum manufacturing capacity of 400 MW per annum. Further, the bidder should have manufactured and supplied at least 50 MW of solar modules with a rating of 300 Wp or above rating in the last three financial years. The modules supplied must have a minimum efficiency of 19 per cent under standard testing conditions, and the modules should perform well in humidity up to 85 per cent with ambient temperatures between -10°C and +65°C.

Last week, BHEL floated a tender for the supply of 18,000 monocrystalline passivated emitter and rear cell (PERC) cells and 18,000 multi-crystalline solar cells. In February 2021, BHEL announced that it isin the process of developing its Passivated Emitter and Rear Cells (PERC) with a minimum efficiency of 21 per cent.
