The Maharashtra Energy Development Agency (MEDA) has floated a tender for developing 1.28 MW of rooftop solar projects with net metering to be located at the Government Medical College in Nagpur. Developers will be responsible for the design, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of the rooftop capacity which is to be built in two lots of 640 kW each. The bidder will also be responsible for operations and maintenance for the project for five years. Developers will have to submit an earnest money deposit of Rs 517,317 along with 3 per cent of the contract value as the security deposit. The last date to submit bids is May 5, 2021.
To be eligible, the bidder must have a certificate from International Electrotechnical Commission for modules and inverters. Further, they must have experience in the manufacturing, supply, installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of at least 2 MW of grid-connected solar power projects. As per the financial criteria, the bidder’s annual turnover should be at least Rs 100 million per year for the last three years.
In July 2020, MEDA issued a tender for the development of rooftop solar plants with net metering at 34 primary health centres in Nagpur. As per the tender guidelines, each site will get an 8 kW rooftop solar system with a four-hour battery backup. In June 2020, MEDA invited bids for more than 4 MW of solar projects. These included a 1.4 MW solar project at Akola, a 1 MW solar project at Vasai-Virar, and a 1.58 MW solar project at Amravati.
