MPUVNL floats tender for 41 MW of grid-connected rooftop solar projects

The Madhya Pradesh UrjaVikas Nigam Limited (MPUVNL) has invited bids to select solar developers to implement 41 MW of grid-connected rooftop solar projects at various locations across Madhya Pradesh. The projects will be developed under the renewable energy service company (RESCO) model. According to tender document, the scope of work includes the design, engineering, supply, financing, installation, testing, and commissioning of 41 MW of grid-connected rooftop solar projects in the state, along with comprehensive maintenance for 25 years. The bid commissioning deadline is May 5, 2021. In January 2021, MPUVNLhad floated a tender for the installation of 40 MW of grid-connected rooftop solar projects at various locations in the state. This tender was however cancelled.

The Madhya Pradesh government has taken the lead in terms of demand aggregation and has floated tenders for commercial and industrial consumers in Mandideep and Pilukhedi. The World Bank, State Bank of India, Asian Development Bank and Punjab National Bank are partnering with the state government to assist on this project. In addition, the state government successfully implemented RESCO tenders for government buildings, schools and hospitals and discovered record low tariffs of Rs 1.58 per kWh and Rs 1.38 per kWh. Setting up data rooms in each building and undertaking pre-engineering design work helped the state government achieve such low tariffs.
