BHEL issues tender for supply of 36,000 mono PERC and multi-crystalline solar cells

Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has floated a tender for the supply of 18,000 monocrystalline passivated emitter and rear cell (PERC) cells and 18,000 multi-crystalline solar cells. The mono PERC cells must have dimensions of 158.75 ± 0.5 mm *158.75 ± 0.5 and a thickness of 200 +/- 20 µm. The multi-crystalline solar cells must have dimensions of 158.75 ± 0.5 mm *158.75 ± 0.5 mm and the thickness of the solar cells of 200 +/- 20 µm. The cells must be supplied within two months of issue of the purchase order. The deadline for submission of bids is April 7, 2021

To be eligible, the bidder must be an authorized crystalline solar cell manufacturer with a manufacturing capacity of at least 10 MW per year for in-house polycrystalline silicon solar cell and mono PERC cell. Further, the bidder should have provided at least 100,000 pieces of 158.75 mm polycrystalline solar cells and mono PERC cells each to solar module manufacturers in the last three years. Under the financial criteria, the bidder’s average annual turnover must have been at least Rs 600,000 in the last three financial years.

Earlier this month, BHEL invited bids for the supply of 3.117 million mono PERC cells of 5.38 Wp output and 16.555 million multi-crystalline solar cells of 4.67 Wp output. In January 2021, BHEL floated a tender for the supply of 8,352,000 multi-crystalline and monocrystalline PERC solar cells.
