REIL floats tender for purchase of 290,000 multicrystalline solar cells under DCR category

Rajasthan Electronics and Instruments Limited (REIL) has issued two tenders for the supply of multicrystalline solar cells. The first tender is for the rate contract supply of 150,000 multicrystalline silicon solar cells with 4.5 W output. The multicrystalline silicon solar cells must be 156*156 ± 1.0 mm or 156.75*156.75 ± 1.0 mm in dimension and must be four to five busbars long. The second tender is for the supply of 140,000 multicrystalline silicon solar cells of 4.67 W output. Under this tender, the cells are required to be four to five busbars long and must be 156*156 ± 1.0 mm or 156.75*156.75 ± 1.0 mm in dimension. The thickness of solar cells under both tenders should be 200 +/-20 µm. The tenders are floated under the domestic content requirement (DCR) category. They must be made in India and supplied in two lots within two weeks from the date of the rate contract. There is no earnest money deposit specified under either of the tenders. For the first tender, the last date to submit bids is March 20, 2021 and for the second tender, it is March 18, 2021.

REIL is a joint venture between the Government of India and the Government of Rajasthan. So far, REIL has floated tenders for the supply of about 6 million solar cells. In December 2020, the company floated a tender for the supply of 200,000 multi-crystalline solar cells. In November 2020, REIL invited bids under two tenders for the supply of 200,000 multicrystalline, and 150,000 multicrystalline and bifacial solar cells respectively.
