Andhra Pradesh invites bids for consulting services for developing small hydro plants

The New and Renewable Energy Development Corporation of Andhra Pradesh Limited (NREDCAP) has invited bids for consulting services and the preparation of a detailed project report for the establishment of small hydropower projects at Sri PothuluriVeerabramhamReservoir, in Kadapa district of Andhra Pradesh. The developers would be required to review pre-feasibility reports and drawings, collect hydrological data, conduct a topographical survey of the project area, carry out a review and analysis of all hydraulic and field data as well a geological evaluation of the region. The selected consultancy firm must also carry out power studies to formulate the program’s basic parameters and optimize installed capacity. Further, they must carry out a preliminary study for the evacuation of the power to the nearest substation and prepare a project implementation schedule indicating the timelines for various important activities from start to finish. Prospective bidders must submit an earnest money deposit of Rs 100,000 and the last date to submit bids is March 25, 2021.

To participate in the bidding process, the consultancy firm must have a minimum average turnover of at least Rs 30 million in the last three years. Further, the bidder should have undertaken similar assignments involving survey, investigation, and detailed project report preparation for at least ten hydropower projects during the 20 years.

In September 2020, NREDCAP invited bids for the preparation of a pre-feasibility report and a detailed project report for 6.3 GW of pumped storage hydroelectric projects across the state. In November 2019, the agency floated a tender for reports on techno-commercial feasibility of pumped storage power projects at 30 tentative locations in the state.
