SECI issues tender for consultancy services for 100 MW solar project with battery storage

The Solar Energy Corporation India has issued a tender for consultancy services for a 100 MW solar project along with a 40 MW/120 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) in Rajnandgaon, Chhattisgarh. The services include the selection of a consultancy firm for owner’s engineer services for the project and the BESS for 30 months. As per the tender document, the consultants will evaluate the engineering design, work plans, quality action plans, field quality plans, and site project monitoring. Consequently, they must be responsible for the design, construction, and commissioning of the project. There is no earnest money deposit specified under the tender. The last date to submit bids is March 19, 2021.

The tender was floated under the Innovations in Solar Power and Hybrid Technologies Project in India for which SECI has applied for funding from the World Bank. Part of the proceeds from the fund will be used for payments under the consulting services contract. Further, it is an open, global tender, and bidders from across the globe can participate.

As of January 2021, 11 tenders for consultancy services have been issued for a cumulative solar capacity of 4 GW.  In November 2020,Bundelkhand Saur Urja Limited invited bids from consultants to draft a detailed project report for a 1.2 GW solar park in Jalaun, Uttar Pradesh.
