Madhya Pradesh floats tender for the development of 40 MW of grid-connected rooftop solar projects

The Madhya Pradesh Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (MPUVNL) has floated a tender for the installation of 40 MW of grid-connected rooftop solar projects at various locations in the state. The projects will be developed under the renewable energy service companymodel. The developers will be responsible for the design, engineering, supply, financing, installation, testing, and commissioning of the projects. Additionally, they will be responsible for comprehensive maintenance for 25 years. The projects can either be grid-connected with net metering systems or be developed for consumption within the premises with no allowance for export. Selected bidders must submit a performance bank guarantee of Rs 1.9 million per MW of capacity won. The deadline for submission of bids is February 15, 2021.

To be eligible, the bidder must be a corporate body incorporated in India under the Companies Act, 1956 or 2013.Further, they must have a minimum net worth of Rs 8 million or a turnover of Rs 24 million per MW of quoted capacity. The solar modules used in the project must be made in India.

So far, Madhya Pradesh has floated tender floated tenders for 160 MW of solar rooftop projects. In November 2020, MPUVNL had floated an online request for proposals for the development of 30 MW of rooftop solar capacity across multiple locations in Madhya Pradesh. In January 2020, the state-owned company issueda tender to select contractors for grid-connected and off-grid rooftop solar projects of 25 MW and battery storage within the state.
