NTPC floats tender for the developing 300 MW of ISTS-connected wind power projects

NTPC Limited has floated a tender for the installation of 300 MW of inter-state transmission system (ISTS) connected wind-power projects which can be set up anywhere in the country. Developers will be required to carry out the engineering, design, manufacturing, supply, commissioning, and installation of the wind farm, including wind turbine generators, control panels, central monitoring and control systems, and wind monitoring masts. Prospective bidders must submit a bid security amount of Rs 100 million for a quoted capacity of less than 160 MW and Rs 200 million otherwise. The deadline for submission of bids is January 29, 2021.

Bidders are eligible if they have carried out similar works for projects with a cumulative capacity of at least 80 MW including one single-site project of at least 20 MW. The bidder should also have carried out projects in the area of steel, oil and gas, petrochemical, fertilizer, or cement worth at least Rs 3 billion in the last ten years. Further, the bidder must have developed at least one electrical substation of at least 132 kV. These projects must have been operational for at least a year. In addition to having a positive net worth, the bidders must also have an average annual turnover of at least Rs 3.27 billion in the last three financial years.

As of December 2020, NTPC limited has floated wind projects with a cumulative capacity of 2.6 GW. In February 2020, the company invited bids for 600 MW of ISTS-connected wind power projects that could be set up anywhere in the country.
