Pattern Energy begins construction of 1,050 MW wind project and transmission line in New Mexico

The Pattern Energy Group, a US-based renewable energy company, has finalised the financing and commenced the construction of its 1,050 MW wind park in New Mexico. The company has also started work on the installation of the Western Spirit Transmission Line, which is owned by the New Mexico Renewable Energy Transmission Authority. The new wind park will be developed in the counties of Guadalupe, Lincoln and Torrance, and consist of 377 turbines, which will be supplied and serviced by GE under a 10-year contract. Further, each turbine will have a capacity of 2.3 MW-2.8 MW.
