The Moroccan Agency for Sustainable Energy and the Islamic Development Bank have launched a joint initiative for the development of renewable energy projects in Africa. The initiative aims at building capacity and creating awareness among the local population for future projects in Africa. The two agencies will support the pre-feasibility studies of the selected renewable energy projects. Under the proposed plan, solar projects with a cumulative capacity of 30 MWp will be set up in Dosso, Maradi and Diffa, in Niger. Additionally, three storage-integrated solar projects have been proposed in Djibouti.
