GEDA floats tender for the development of a biomass briquetting plant

The Goa Energy Development Agency (GEDA) has floated a tender to set up a biomass briquetting project with a processing capacity of 2,000 kg per hour. The project will be located at Saligao, Bardez, in Goa, and will be set up on a design-, build,-operate, finance-transfer basis for 10 years. Developers will be required to use tree waste and coconut waste for the installation of the biomass project. Further, a grid-connected solar project will be set up on the rooftop of the plant. The project is estimated to cost Rs 15 million. GEDA will provide 3,520 sq. mt. of land at the project site, free of cost, to the developer. The project must be completed within 150 days of the issue of the work order. Prospective bidders must submit an earnest money deposit of Rs 3 million. The deadline for the submission of bids was January 25, 2021.
