Engie, Neoen propose 1 GW solar plus storage project in France

French energy company Engie and independent power producer (IPP) Neoen have announced plans to develop Europe’s largest solar-plus-storage plant. The project, called Horizeo, will have an installed capacity of 1 GW and include a green hydrogen production unit, an agrivoltaic plant and a data centre. It is estimated to cost Euro 1 billion and will be managed by French energy regulator CRE. The electricity generated by the project will be sold to unspecified consumers through a PPA.
