The Rewa Ultra Mega Solar Limited (RUMSL) has floated a tender seeking developers to set uptransmission systems for the 1.5 GW solar park in Madhya Pradesh. Developers will be required to carry out the design, manufacturing, procurement, subcontracting, delivery, construction, installation, the supply of spares, and completion of the work. The project must be commissioned within 480 days of awarding of the contract. Bidders are eligible if they have constructed at least one substation with at least four air-insulated switchgear circuit breakersand 220 kV bays in the last seven years. In addition to having a positive net worth, bidders must have also had a minimum average turnover of Rs 2.94 billion in at least three of the last five financial years. Further, they must have liquid assets or access to credit facilities for a minimum of Rs 490 million. Prospective bidders must submit an earnest money deposit of Rs 44.45 million and the last date for submission of bids is February 4, 2021.
As of January 2021, Madhya Pradesh has large-scale solar installations of a total capacity of 2.2 GW. In October 2018, RUMSL had floated a tender for the development of 1.5 GW of solar projects in the Rewa ultra mega solar park. After deadline extensions, the bids are expected to be opened in February 2021. In November 2020, RUMSL invited bids seeking consultants to carry out environmental and social surveys for the proposed land which is expected to house 2.4 GW of solar capacity in the near future.
