Sunova Solar has launched its new Sol series solar PV module, which is based on a large wafer size of 182 mm. The new module boasts of a conversion rate of up to 21.6 per cent and a total module power output of 590 W, in the case of mass production. The new modules are based on mature mono passivated emitter and rear contact (PERC) cell technology, multi-busbars and half-cut design. This helps in increasing the total power output of a single module so as to effectively reduce the levellised cost of energy for customers. According to Sunova, the Sol series module is in the process of multiple certifications and is expected to be sold in the global markets in the first quarter of 2021.
The bigger 182 mm x 182 mm wafer size combined with other advanced cell and module technologies such as the next generation of back printing technology, improved front and rear contact, optimised long wave response for solar cells and gallium doped silicon wafers, the new module provides a higher conversion rate, excellent power generation capacity and high reliability. Moreover, with mature mono PERC technology, multi-busbar (10BB) and half-cut design, optimised laser cutting process and high density encapsulation, the module efficiency was successfully increased by 0.4 per cent.
