SJVN invites bids for the EPC of 100 MW of solar projects

SJVN Limited has invited bids through notice inviting expressions of interest to enlist engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) vendors for the installation of 100 MW of solar projects across the country. Developers will be required to carry out the design, engineering, manufacture, supply, inspection, installation, erection, testing, and commissioning of the projects. They will also be required to find suitable land and provide operations and maintenance services for 10 years. Vendors are eligible to participate in the bidding process if they have completed similar work for at least 50 MW of solar capacity worth at least Rs 1.5 billion in the last seven years. Further, in addition to having a positive net worth, the bidder must have had an annual turnover of at least Rs 1.5 billion in the last three years. Winning bidders will be enlisted for two years initially and renewal beyond this will be based on the fulfilment of technical, financial, and other criteria. No earnest money deposit is specified under the tender. The deadline for online submissions is December 17, 2020, and the deadline for offline submissions is December 21, 2020.

SJVN is a joint venture between the government of Himachal Pradesh and the central government. The company has been rapidly expanding its solar portfolio in recent months. In October 2020, SJVN floated a tender to purchase 1,500 acres of land to set up solar power projects in Rajasthan. In the same month, the JV won the rights to develop 100MW of solar power capacity at the Raghanesda Solar Park in Gujarat. In July 2020, SJVN invited bids for developing 100 MW of solar power capacity at the Dholera Solar Park in Gujarat.
