RUMSL floats tender for consultancy services to identify land for 1.4 GW solar park in Madhya Pradesh

Rewa Ultra Mega Solar Limited (RUMSL) has invited bids for consultants who will identify land for a proposed solar park in Madhya Pradesh. The company expects an environmental and social baseline survey to be carried out in Morena and Chhatarpur which are expected to have solar parks with capacities of 1.4 GW and 1 GW respectively. The winning bidders will be expected to collect and collate baseline, social, and environmental (physical and biological) data (primary and secondary) in the two sites. They will also be required to build a geographic information system database to find threats and issues. Consultants are expected to have had a minimum annual turnover of Rs 20 million over the previous three financial years. They must have also prepared similar reports or impact assessments for solar projects of at least 50 MW over the same period. The expected cost of the project is Rs 5 million. The deadline for the submission of bids is December 12, 2020, and construction will begin on December 28, 2020.

Madhya Pradesh has total large-scale solar capacity installations of nearly 2.2 GW. In October 2020, NTPC limited floated a tender to procure solar modules for projects of 1,035 MW in the state. In April 2020, RUMSL had extended the deadline for 1.5 GW of grid-connected solar projects to be developed across three solar parks in the state. In January 2020, RUSML had invited bids seeking consultants to conduct surveys for the development of 4 clusters of the Rewa Ultra Mega solar park in Madhya Pradesh.
