Uttarakhand proposes the development of 10,000 solar power plants under a self-employment scheme

The Uttarakhand Renewable Energy Development Agency (UREDA) has invited firms to offer technical support for the installation of small-scale grid-connected solar power plants under the Mukhyamantri Saur Swarojgar Yojana in Uttarakhand. The scheme is designed to provide jobs to 10,000 youths in the state who have lost employment due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. As per the specifications of the scheme, individual capacities of up to 25 kWp will be allotted to the participants. They will be responsible for the design, manufacture, supply, erection, testing, commissioning and maintenance of the plants. The capacities are proposed to be installed and commissioned by March 2022. The installation and commissioning of each plant should be completed within six months of receipt of the work order.
