Chile to contract 2.31 TWh of renewable energy capacity in 2021

The Chilean National Energy Commission has announced its plan to auction 2.31 TWh of renewable energy in May 2021. The auction will also include the option of deploying storage systems. The preliminary terms and conditions of the tender will introduce some changes to reduce risks, which will encourage the participation of bidders to ensure competitive prices. The projects will generate clean energy for 15 years, starting 2026.
