CCEA approves Rs 1.8 billion investment in 210 MW hydro project in Himachal Pradesh

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs has approved an investment of Rs 1.8 billion for the development of the 210 MW Luhri Stage 1 hydro electric project, situated on parts of the Sutlej river in the Shimla and Kullu districts of Himachal Pradesh. The project is currently being developed by Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam Limited on a build-own-operate-maintain basis, and is set to be commissioned by January 2026. The families displaced by the project will be entitled to 100 units of free electricity per month for 10 years.
