ITI Limited floats tender for setting up 1.5 MW of solar capacity in Raebareli

ITI Limited has invited bids for the development of a 1.5 MW grid-connected solar power project at its manufacturing facility in Raebareli district of Uttar Pradesh. To be eligible, a bidder must have carried out aspects of design, supply, testing, and commissioning of a total capacity of 1.5 MW of solar including at least one single grid-connected solar power project of at least 500 kW capacity in the last three years. In addition to having a positive net worth, the bidder must also have a cumulative annual turnover of Rs 30 million in the last three financial years. The developer, once selected, will be responsible for the survey, design, fabrication, supply, testing, and commissioning of either a 1.5 MW rooftop capacity with net metering or a ground-mounted solar power project of the same capacity at the ITI facility in the district. Successful bidders will also have to carry out operation and maintenance activities for five years. Developers will also be requiredto use 325W polycrystalline solar modules which will be manufactured and supplied by ITI limited. Interested bidders will have to submit an earnest money deposit of Rs 500,000.The project must be completed within six months of awarding the contract and will be commissioned for 25 years. The deadline for the submission of bids is November 25, 2020.

ITI Limited is a centrally-owned manufacturer of telecommunications and networking equipment.  The current announcement comes after the Department of Telecommunicationshad issued a notice, in February 2020, to telecom providers to take steps to use renewable energy in their operations.In July 2020, ITI limited issued a tender for the supply of 531,360 multi-crystalline solar cells. In March 2020, the company floated a tender for the procurement of solar energy from offsite, ground-mounted projects through the group captive open access model.
