The Rajasthan Electronics and Instruments Limited (REIL) has invited bids under two tenders for the supply of solar photovoltaic module mounting structures. Under the first tender, REIL wishes to purchase 2,000 mounting structures for rooftop solar systems of 1 kW each. Under the second tender, the company seeks 1,100 mounting structures for 150W solar modules, 3,500 mounting structures for 120W modules, and 1,500 hot-dip galvanized module mounting structures for 75W modules. Interested bidders must submit an earnest money deposit of Rs 195,000 for the first tender and Rs 61,000 for the second tender. 20 per cent of the tendered quantity would be reserved for micro, small, and medium enterprises and they will also be exempted from submitting the EMD. There would also be a preference for domestic suppliers. The specified quantity of module manufacturing structures must be delivered within two weeks from the date of delivery clearance. The last date for submission of bids for both tenders is November 9, 2020.
The Rajasthan Electronics and Instruments Limited is a joint venture between the government of India and the Rajasthan Government. In September 2019, the company had floated a similar tender to procure solar photovoltaic module mounting structures for modules of 250W, 300W, and 335W. REIL has floated a total of 45 tenders for 5.5 million solar cells, 39,000 solar modules. More recently, in October 2020, the company issued a tender for the supply of 350,000 monocrystalline and bifacial solar cells. In August 2020, the company had invited bids for the supply of 600,000 multi-crystalline solar cells in lots of 200,000 each.In October 2019, the JV had invited bids to develop 50 MW of small-scale grid-connected solar projects in various states and union territories.
