MPUVNL invites bids for 30 MW rooftop capacity under RESCO

Madhya Pradesh Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (MPUVNL) has floated an online request for proposal (RfP) for the development of 30 MW of rooftop solar capacity across multiple locations in Madhya Pradesh. The projects will be developed on a Renewable Energy Service Company (RESCO) model and involve components of design, engineering, supply, financing, installation, testing, and commissioning. It also includes comprehensive operation and maintenance services for 25 years.  The MPUVNL has also specified that the modules used in the project have to be from enlisted manufacturers and must be manufactured in India. The project will also be eligible for funding from the World Bank. The last date for the submission of bids is November 27, 2020.

MPUVNL is a nodal agency responsible for the implementation of policies of the central and state government in the renewables space. The state-owned company has floated a capacity of 230.5 MW of rooftop solar projects so far. In August 2020, the agency had issued an expression of interest (EoI) for the purchase of power from solar rooftop projects in the state. In June 2020, MPUVNL had issued a modified tender for 15 MW of rooftop solar capacity. In January 2020, it invited bids for 45 MW of grid-connected solar power projects in various capacities for residential consumers of the state.
