The Gujarat State Electricity Corporation Limited (GSECL) has invited bids for the appointment of a consultant for a 3.3 GW wind solar hybrid park at the Rann of Kutch area in Gujarat. The role of the consultant will beto prepare feasibility reports, detailed project report (DPR), engineering services, wind and solar resource assessment, estimation of energy yield, and optimization of plot sizing and layout. To be eligible for bidding, the bidder should have experience providing consultancy services for developing a single large-scale renewable energy park of 500 MW capacity, consisting of solar, wind, or solar-wind hybrid projects. Interested bidders must submit an earnest money deposit (EMD) of Rs 115,000. The last date to submit the bids online is October 20, 2020.
In 2019, Gujarat had modified its laws pertaining to wind and wind-solar hybrid in the state incorporating the fact that central government project tenders can be set up anywhere across India. In September 2020, GSECL invited bids for the development of210 MW solar projects in Jamnagar, Gujarat. The state has an installed large-scale solar power capacity of 2.4 GW with about 2.2 GW of solar projects in the pipeline. It is also home to the country’s largest solar park with a capacity of close to 800 MW at Charanka near Patan in 2011.
