The Rajasthan Electronics and Instruments Limited (REIL) has invited bids for the installation and commissioning of 2 MW of rooftop solar power systems across buildings of Jaipur. As per the tender guidelines, bidders must have successfully executed at least one grid-connected solar power project of 30 kW capacity and a cumulative capacity of 100 kW in the last three financial years. They must also have a minimum average turnover of Rs 1 million in the previous three financial years. Successful bidders will have to begin work immediately after the release of the work order and should complete it within 12 weeks. They must also be responsible for comprehensive maintenance activities for five years. Solar modules and part of the balance of systems will be provided by REIL Jaipur. The last date for submission of bids is 15 October 2020.
REIL is a jointed venture between the Government of India and the Government of Rajasthan. So far, REIL has issued tenders for a total of 184.8 MW of rooftop solar projects. In September 2019, the company had floated a similar tender for 2 MW of rooftop solar capacity across buildings in Jaipur. In October 2019, the JV had invited bids to develop 50 MW of small-scale grid-connected solar projects in various states and union territories. These projects were to be set up under the RESCO model on the rooftops of government buildings. Rajasthan aims to achieve a target rooftop solar capacity of 4 GW by 2024-25.
