New Delhi, September 11, 2020: Thyssenkrupp Elevator, one of the world’s leading elevator companies, has collaborated with Amplus Solar to set up an onsite solar powerunit at their Pune facility. thyssenkrupp Elevator (India) has signed aPower Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Amplusto procure 820 kWp of solar powerfor 20 years.
The Gurgaon-headquartered Amplusrecently commissioned the 820 kWpsolar powerplant at the facility – which includes 755kWpof rooftop solar and a 65kWpcarport.The carport is unique in its construction, made up entirely of low weight, high strength Aluminiumand has a premium design to match the aesthetic requirements of thyssenkruppElevator.
Through thisinitiative, thyssenkrupp Elevator (India)will generate 1,067 MWhof green energy in a year, equivalent to reducing 774 MT of carbon emissions annually.

The solar plant was inaugurated at thyssenkrupp Elevator’s multi-purpose facility at Chakan, Pune on 1st September in the presence of Mr. Manish Mehan, CEO and MD, thyssenkrupp Elevator (India) and the Amplus Team. The project execution was especially challenging given the prevailing COVID-19 situation and restrictions, especially in Maharashtra.
