MSEDCL plans to procure 200 MW of wind energy from projects beyond their EPAs

The Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) has floated a tender for the procurement of 200 MW of capacity from wind power projects in the state with energy purchase agreements that have expired or will soon be expiring. MSEDCL will sign a fresh power purchase agreement (PPA) with the winning bidder for a period of seven years from the date of signing. The tender comes with a ceiling tariff of Rs 2.52 per kWh. To participate in this tender, a wind power project must have an individual size of at least 0.50 MW at one site. Further, projects that are currently supplying power to MSEDCL under existing agreements that have either already expired or would be expiring on or before December 31, 2020 are eligible to participate in the bidding process. Bidders are required to pay Rs 25,000 for the request for selection documents, Rs 10,000 as processing fee and Rs 100,000 per MW as earnest money deposit. The last date for the submission of bids is October 6, 2020.
