Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) has invited bids from prospective vendors to supply 2.35 million smart electricity meters. These meters will be installed across various states in India. The meters will be installed on the basis of 4G, 3G and 2G modes.
As per the eligibility criteria, the vendors should be manufacturers of smart meters and should have experience of successfully supplying 0.7 million electricity meters to any government departments, public sector undertakings, discoms, or private companies during the last three years. The bidder should also have an average annual turnover of at least Rs 825 million during the last three financial years. The bidder should have had a positive profit in any two of the previous three financial years, and the net worth of the bidders should be more than the paid share. An earnest money deposit of Rs 137.6 million must be paid by the interested bidders. All micro and small enterprises (MSEs) will be exempted from the payment of tender fee and earnest money deposit. Of the total quantity, 25 per cent has been earmarked for MSEs. Further, 4 per centof this has been set aside for procurement from MSEs owned by scheduled caste, scheduled tribe, and 3 per centfor women entrepreneurs. The last date for bid submission is September 15, 2020.
Recently, EESL floated a tender for setting up 279 MW of solar projects in the state of Maharashtra. The capacities of individual projects can range between 2 MW and 10 MW. As per the tender guidelines, the tendered capacity has been divided into five lots. The bidders are free to participate in any number of lots and accordingly, the combined average turnover for the lots applied by the bidder shall be considered for evaluation.
