Siemens Gamesa to supply turbines for Adani’s 473 MW project in Rajasthan

Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy, has received a order from Adani Green Energy supplying 215 SG 2.2-122 wind turbines, for a cumulative 473 MW of wind power capacity to be developed in in Rajasthan. The scope of work includes manufacturing, supply, installation, and pre-commissioning of the wind turbines for the project in Fatehgarh in Rajasthan. Siemens Gamesa has signed several projects with Adani, which add up to 391.2 MW. Of this capacity, 87.6 MW has already been commissioned with the remaining capacity being under construction.

Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy also recently launched its SG 3.4-145 wind turbines for the wind market. The new wind turbine is specifically designed and optimised for wind conditions in the country. The new wind turbine is an extension of the Siemens Gamesa 3.X platform, of which the company has installed more than 3GW globally, and will be manufactured in its facilities in India starting in early 2021. Furthermore, the turbine is designed to adapt to India’s extreme and varying weather conditions supported by an advanced monitoring and cooling system, which ensures efficient thermal conditioning and performance at high-temperature sites.
