SSCL issues tender for 25 MW of canal-top solar pants in Karnataka

Shivamogga Smart City Limited (SSCL) has floated a tender for the development of 25 MW of canal-top solar plants on the Upper Tanga canal stretches, passing through Shivamogga City in Karnataka. SSCL, through a public-private partnership with Karnataka Niravari Nigama Limited, intends to supply solar power to the Mangalore Electricity Supply Company (MESCOM). The project will be developed on a design-build-finance-operate-transfer basis. The scope of work for the winning bidders will include the design, finance, engineering, procurement, construction, O&M and transfer of the project in accordance with the provisions of the draft project development and implementation agreement. For power offtake, the selected developers will enter into a PPA with MESCOM. The developers must commission the project within 18 months and provide comprehensive O&M services for the plants for a period of 25 years. The last date for the submission of bids is August 10, 2020.
