Iberdrola to sell renewable energy from its Puylobo wind project to Vodafone Spain

Iberdrola has signed a long-term PPA with Vodafone Spain to sell renewable energy from the 49 MW Puylobo wind project, which is under construction in Aragon, Spain. As part of the agreement, which will come into effect from January 2021, Iberdrola will sell 140 GWh of electricity each year to Vodafone Spain. Another 400 GWh of electricity will be supplied each year under a separate agreement. The Puylobo wind project will be constructed at an investment of Euro 50 million. Once operational, it will prevent the emission of 32,000 tonnes of CO2 per year. The construction of the wind project is in line with Iberdrola’s strategy to invest in clean power generation projects in Spain and its commitment to sign bilateral agreements with big customers.
