PEDA floats 2 MW solar tender in Himachal Pradesh

The Punjab Energy Development Agency has floated a tender for setting up 2 MW of solar power capacity on behalf of the Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB) at the Neilla Bhakra Dam village in Bilaspur, Himachal Pradesh. The BBMB-owned land in the village will be used to develop the solar projects. The board will enter into a PPA with the selected developer for a period of 25 years and also purchase the solar power that will be generated at the tariff mentioned in the PPA. Fiscal incentives such as accelerated depreciation, concessional customs and excise duties, and tax holidays can be availed. The winning bidder will have to sign a rent agreement with BBMB for 27 years. This comprises a 25-year PPA period, an 18-month installation period and a six-month period for vacating the land. The land will be leased at a rent of Rs 100 per acre per year. The last date for bid submission is June 30, 2020.
