NHPC Limited has announced plans to develop 50 MW of solar power projects and three hydropower plants with a cumulative capacity of 155 MW in the union territory of Ladakh. The solar project would be set up at Phyang. The three hydropower projects are being planned at Khalsi (80 MW), Kanyunche (45 MW) and Takmaching (30 MW). The blending of solar and hydro power may be explored further.
