Rajasthan Electronics and Instruments Limited (REIL) has floated a tender for supply of balance of system (BOS) equipment as well as for setting up solar projects of 230 kW at the two Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) buildings. This will consist of 120 kW being set up in Bengaluru in the state of Karnataka and 110 kW being set up in Chennai in the state of Tamil Nadu. As per the tender documents, the selected bidder must complete the design, engineering, manufacture, supply, storage, civil work, erection, testing, and commissioning of each project within those four months. The last date for bid submission was June 4, 2020.
The scope of work for the developer will include supplying BOS equipment (not including solar modules and inverters), design, installation, testing and commissioning of the solar plants. The selected bidder will also be providing warranty and operation and maintenance services for a five-year period. These services will include wear and tear, overhauling, machine breakdown, insurance and replacement of spares and consumables. The eligibility criteria for participating in bids requires experience in installing, commissioning, operation and maintenance of a single project of 50 kWp capacity for rooftop grid-connected plants and cumulative 100 kWp projects in last five financial years. Financial requirements include a minimum annual turnover of Rs 2.5 million over the past three years.
REIL has been fairly active in tendering for solar projects. Earlier this year in March, REIL had floated a tender inviting bids for developing multiple solar projects with capacities ranging from 500 kW to 2 MW or more at various locations in Maharashtra. In October 2019, the company invited bids to develop 50 MW of small-scale grid-connected solar projects in various states and union territories.
