The MNRE has issued an advisory to the power energy departments and distribution companies in the states of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu that they should consider permitting roll-over of banked electricity as the power demand has plummeted in recent weeks. The ministry had earlier received representations from states requesting for such an advisory to allow the roll-over of banked electricity from solar rooftop projects and open access renewable energy generating stations under captive and third-party sale. The MNRE has advised the roll-over of banked electricity for financial years 2019-20 and 2020-21, to the next financial year, 2021-22.
