CSERC sets levelised tariffs for renewable energy projects

The Chhattisgarh State Electricity Regulatory Commission (CSERC) has issued the final generic levellised tariff regulations for small-hydro, non-fossil fuel-based cogeneration, biomass, and solar projects in the state for fiscal years 2019-20 and 2020-21. The CSERC said that the generic tariff will be set on a levellised basis for the tariff period from the commercial operation date of projects till the end of their useful life. As per the regulations, capital costs will include all capital works such as machinery, civil works, erection and commissioning, financing and interest during construction, and evacuation infrastructure up to the interconnection point. The generic levellised tariff will be applicable to projects that will become operational in financial years 2019-20 and 2020-21 and have long-term PPAs with state discoms.
