MSEDCL’s 500 MW solar tender goes undersubscribed

Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited’s (MSEDCL) recent tender for the long-term procurement of power from 500 MW of intra-state grid-connected solar power projects (Phase V) has been undersubscribed. The tender received bids for 350 MW as against the tendered capacity of 500 MW. Avaada Energy and Tata Power bid for 250 MW and 100 MW respectively. MSEDCL had set a ceiling tariff of Rs 2.90 per kWh for this tender. As per the tender guidelines, the minimum bid capacity for projects was 5 MW.

Meanwhile, Rajasthan Electronics & Instruments Limited has invited bids for setting up solar plants with capacities ranging from 500 kW to 2 MW or more at various locations across Maharashtra. The scope of work for the selected bidders will include the design, engineering, supplies, construction, erection, testing, transportation, unloading, installation and commissioning of the solar power plants. The developers will also be required to provide 25 years of comprehensive operations and maintenance services of the solar power projects. The last date for bid submission is March 27, 2020.

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) invited bids for 2.5 MW of grid-connected rooftop solar PV projects on BSNL buildings in different zones of Maharashtra. The project will be developed under the RESCO model. The scope of work includes the site survey, design, manufacture, supply, erection, testing, commissioning, and operations and maintenance of the projects. The interested bidder should have designed, supplied, installed, and commissioned at least one grid-connected solar PV project with a capacity of not less than 50 kW, commissioned at least six months before the techno-commercial bid opening date.
