GE Renewable Energy has been selected by Sanko Enerji to provide 12 cypress units and two units of 3 MW for the 70 MW Guney wind farm in Turkey. The wind farm will produce enough clean energy to power 71,000 homes, save about 200,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide and support Turkey’s ambition to power two-thirds of the country with renewable energy. Located in Bursa, the construction and commercial operation of the wind farm is planned for the last quarter of 2020. GE’s scope of work will also include 10-year service agreements. Guney is the second onshore wind project that Sanko Enerji and GE Renewable Energy will be building together.
