CDC Group has allocated $10 million to boost solar power in South Africa and Namibia

The CDC Group, a UK government-owned financial development institution, has announced new partnership agreements amounting to about $400 million. The announcement was made at the UK-Africa Investment Summit (AIS) in London on January 20, 2020. Of this amount, $10 million will be in the form of a debt agreement with Mettle Solar Africa to improve the solar energy sector in South Africa and Namibia. The funds will also be used to support the growth of small and medium enterprises in the renewable energy space.
