MNRE plans a renewable energy standardisation cell

The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) is planning to set up a renewable energy standardisation cell. The cell will identify areas in the renewable energy sector that need to be standardised and international standards laid down by the International Organization for Standardization and the International Electrotechnical Commission that can be adapted to Indian conditions. According to the ministry, the standardisation cell will interact with relevant subject experts from research and development institutions, test labs, industries and the Bureau of Indian Standards to seek inputs for developing and updating Indian standards.
