NTPC invites bids for 1.2 GW of solar projects

NTPC Limited has floated an invitation for the selection of solar power developers for setting up 1,200 MW interstate transmission system-connected solar projects across India. The interested bidders are expected to pay an earnest money deposit of Rs 400,000 per MW to participate in this tender. A pre-bid meeting is scheduled to be held on March 6, 2020, and the last date for submission of bids is March 19, 2020.

Earlier, NTPC Limited had invited bids for 870 kW of rooftop solar projects, to be set up at one of its generating stations in Uttar Pradesh. The project entailed the supply and erection of grid-connected rooftop solar PV systems on the roof of NTPC’s Stage 2 TG hall in Vindhyachal. The scope of work included the design, manufacturing, supply and commissioning of the projects on a turnkey basis. The tender document specified that the winning bidders would operate and maintain the projects for one year.

NTPC Limited had also floated a tender for the supply, installation and commissioning of 550 kW of rooftop solar systems, to be set up at thermal power stations in Odisha. The scope of work included the supply, installation and commissioning of the rooftop solar systems at the Talcher super thermal power station in Kaniha and a 50 kW system at the Talcher thermal power station in Angul district of Odisha. The bidders were also expected to provide O&M services for these systems for five years.
