Uzbekistan opens tendering process for 200 MW solar park

Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Energy has issued an expression of interest for the development and construction of a 200 MW solar park in Sherabad, located in the Surkhandarya province. The project, which will include the construction of a 220 kV substation and a 52 km transmission line, is vital for a region that depends on electricity imports. The tender will be carried out with the support of the Asian Development Bank, which will act as transaction adviser. The responses to the expression of interest are due by February 2020. A request for qualification call for the project is expected in March 2020 and the request for proposals is slated for May 2020.
