Scatec Solar, a Norwegian company, has won 300 MW of solar power projects in Tunisia as part of a 500 MW solar tender launched by the Tunisian government. The company has been awarded three projects in the tender floated by the Tunisian Ministry of Industry and SMEs earlier this year. The three projects of 50 MW, 50 MW and 200 MW are to be developed in The Tozeur, Sidi Bouzid and Tataouine regions respectively. Further, a consortium led by Engie and Moroccan energy producer Nareva won a 100 MW solar project in Gafsa governorate, while another consortium led by Chinese industrial group TBEA and Dubai-based energy producer AMEA Power won a 100 MW project in Kairouan governorate. The lowest tariff bid of $0.025 per kWh came from Scatec Solar.
